If you have frequent or consistent stomach tightening that is accompanied by other symptoms such as lower back pain, pelvic pressure, vaginal bleeding, or increased vaginal discharge, it could be a sign of preterm labor. To avoid premature birth, this needs to be treated medically right away.

2. Placental abruption: 

Stomach tightening accompanied by sudden, intense pain in the abdomen, back, or pelvis, along with vaginal bleeding, could indicate a placental abruption. This condition occurs when the placenta separates from the uterus prematurely and is a medical emergency that requires immediate attention.

3. Preeclampsia:
